Job Description:

The Director of Marketing & Communications position will perform marketing and communications activities for OSU Medical Center through various traditional and nontraditional media, including print, television, web, social media, video and publications. Implements marketing, branding and communications strategies to promote awareness of the medical center and enhance the image among various audiences, including current & prospective employees, the local healthcare community, media, community leaders and the general public.The Director for Marketing and Communications at Oklahoma State University Medical Center reports directly to the Administrator of the OSU Medical Center with a dotted line relationship to the Assistant Vice President for External Affairs and Strategic Communications of OSU Center for Health Sciences. This role shepherds relationships with internal and external constituents through the comprehensive management of public relations, marketing efforts, outreach and community relations.40% of Marketing Communications:Serves as a primary staff writer, developing concepts and copy for print, radio, television, direct mail, web, social media and other promotional media, including brochures, advertising and multimedia presentations. Provides writing support for all marketing and communications projects. Prepares communications for various announcements made by leadership of the OSU Medical Center.15% Media Relations:Research, develop and draft news releases and other media materials to attract positive news coverage for OSU Medical Center in Tulsa. Serves as contact for the media. Assists with emergency communications, including mass notification system. Monitors news coverage of OSU Medical Center and prepares daily electronic reports for distribution. Provides detailed communications reports monthly and annually.25% General Writing:Prepares various general writing assignments, including scriptwriting, surveys, guides, forms and reports regarding promotion of the campuses. Provides research data as needed. Develops status reports and other marketing materials to promote medical center achievements and activities.5% Web and Social Media Support:Supports web and social media efforts, developing new web content, editing existing web pages, uploading photos, changing links and adding graphic elements. Implements social media strategies.15% Marketing Support:Helps promote and staff special events. Assists communications team with video and photography shoots, scouting locations, developing concepts and scheduling photographers/videographers. Handle special projects as requested.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in related field8-10 yrs experience in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing and/or advertising
