SUMMARY This position will primarily be involved in the multiple aspects of Cherokee Nation Businesses' (CNB) external communication avenues, including but not limited to, the Cherokee Nation Film Office, the Emmy award winning show "Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People" and other video and film projects. Responsible for working with both internal and external partners to market the Cherokee Nation as a destination for film projects and develop and implement a marketing strategy for Cherokee Nation film and video projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following: Responsible for the sale and distribution of "Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People" promotional material and other video projects on multiple platforms. Create and maintain relationships with outside organizations and act as a representative of both the Cherokee Nation and CNB. Develop and oversee a marketing plan for the Cherokee Nation Film Office. Market the Cherokee Nation as a destination for film and video projects to both in-state and out of state productions. Build database showcasing Cherokee Nation locations, talent, filmmakers and crew for productions considering filming in the Cherokee Nation. Work as a liaison to potential filmmakers and production companies. Facilitate fact checking and help ensure cultural integrity for outside productions that feature the Cherokee Nation. Represent Cherokee Nation Film Office and CNB at film festivals and other related events. Responsible for development and oversight of marketing campaign for "Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People" and other video projects. Work with digital media specialist and designers on social media strategy and other marketing projects. Responsible for distribution of "Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People" and other video projects via television stations, internet streaming services, film festivals, DVD sales, etc. Build and maintain relationships with outside organizations and partners. Establish database of potential clients and facilitate ongoing sales relationships. Perform other job related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY Lead and/or guide the work of other employees; manages multiple projects without having direct supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in journalism, sales, marketing, public relations, or other related field, and 5 to 7 years of sales, marketing and/or public relations experience or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Effective written, presentation, organizational and computer skills including working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products and Mac operating systems. Working knowledge of various Google apps, such as Sheets. Ability to set priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives in a fast paced environment paying close attention to detail. Strong planning, analytical and creative problem solving skills. Basic photography skills. Experience with social media platforms, including advertising on social media. Knowledge of the Cherokee Nation and its 14-county jurisdiction. Ability to communicate with and direct graphic designers and digital specialist. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is primarily performed in an office environment. Regular in-state and some out-of-state travel required which may include overnight stay. Must have flexibility to occasionally work varied shifts including, weekends, as needed.
