Manager, the Quality Engineer II is accountable for supporting new
product development and product maintenance through the application
of Quality engineering skills for medical devices. This person
willhandle projects and tasks, from product inception through
product launch and maintenance and play an active role in the
processes to ensure products meet quality standards consistent with
both Corporate andunit policies, while meeting all design control
and other regulatory requirements. Job responsibilities: Implements
solutions to routine problems of moderate scope. Follows company
procedures and makes basic procedural updates. Develops working
knowledge of applicable regulatory, Corporate and/or Unit
requirements. Communicates across functions / departments for
assigned areas of responsibility. Represents Quality on new product
development projects and a team member for sustaining engineering
projects. Provides audit support (preparation, closure, etc.
activities) This role will be active on the floor, interacting with
the production team to identify and implement improvement ideas
Must have excellent communication skills with all levels of the
business Works closely with two Quality Technicians to ensure
quality throughout the production lines and pack-out Assists and
answers complaints Dispositions non-conformances and implements
corrective actions as required Will lead kaizen teams Administer
regulatory and quality compliance Contributes to the completion of
achievements associated with specific projects. Prepares reports,
including quantitative / qualitative analysis, summaries and
protocols. Revises policies/procedures as it relates to Quality.
May be expected to make presentations. Under general supervision,
plans, designs and performs development as assigned. Exercises
judgment within generally defined practices and policies in
selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to
problems with broad scope and complexity. Moderate level
application of technical principles, theories, concepts, techniques
and quality sciences / tools. Qualifications The role requires
excellent communication skills, the ability to effectively interact
with all levels of associates and functional departments in the
organization including external customers and a strong
understanding of quality engineering principles. BA/BS Degree
required (Major: Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, or equivalent
technical field). Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar
role/relevant experience. Will consider combination of Bachelor's
degree and relevant experience. Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma for
Manufacturing desirable. ASQ, CQE, Six Sigma certification
preferred, not required. Working knowledge of FDA
Regulations/Guidance, and Good Manufacturing Practices desirable.
Working knowledge and understanding of the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) 21 CFR 820 and International Organization for
Standardization (ISO) 13485. Excellent attention to detail Must be
proactive, have experience with highly motivated performance teams,
strong interpersonal and project management skills. Ability to work
both independently and in partnership with others; proven ability
to use initiative and drive to achieve results. For certain roles
