Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer 3 position provides technical leadership
for all manufacturing processes, equipment, and projects as
assigned. The associate must be hands on and enjoy working on the
production floor, capable of leading projects, and able to
communicate with all levels of the organization.
Essential / Key Job Responsibilities (including supervisory and/or
fiscal):
Support and/or lead internally generated changes (Process Change,
Ops Synergy, CI, CTW, etc.)
Complete projects on time and at budget. Manage capital spend.
Identify new CTW opportunities to meet CTW budget requirements.
Ensure processes and equipment are designed for sustainable
long-term manufacturing at a competitive standard cost.
Manage projects through design or change control procedures.
Develop and execute validation plans and protocols. Support Site
Master Validation Planning.
Responsible for developing and sustaining manufacturing procedures
(BOMs, RTR, SPMs, Local Drawings, etc.).
Design, implement, and sustain manufacturing layouts to promote
single piece flow.
Support preventative maintenance system to maintain acceptable
product quality and/or validated state.
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues. Challenge all major
equipment and process failures with root cause analysis and
improvement plans.
Promote visual management systems, pull manufacturing, single piece
flow, and continuous improvement (OEE, TPM, SPC, etc.) through lean
six sigma methodology.
Sustain/develop/establish capable processes and equipment.
Communicate and maintain favorable rapport with team leaders,
engineering, quality, regulatory, maintenance, and production
associates.
Provide technical leadership and coaching to engineering,
maintenance, and production associates. Train associates as
required.
Understand and support PFMEA and Test Method Validations.
Supervise assigned technicians and/or engineers.
May require working off shift or weekends.
Performs a variety of routine and non-routine work as assigned.
Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods and
adheres to quality guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
Well-developed technical writing skills.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Demonstrated to think logically.
Demonstrated to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair
electrical/mechanical problems.
Well-developed interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to read and understand mechanical/electrical/electronic
drawings and schematic diagrams.
Proven problem-solving skills.
Well-developed communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of FDA and site regulations for design and
change control.
Demonstrated professional behavior.
Aptitude to develop new skills.
Serve business with excellent customer service.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and events.
Demonstrated Lean and Six Sigma experience especially (in SPC, OEE,
TPM, single piece flow, visual management, pull manufacturing, and
5S).
Aptitude to learn robotic, vision, controls, and automation
equipment.
Process validation and PFMEA experience.
Basic project management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient with Solid Works, Minitab, Microsoft Office, and
SAP.
Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Engineering experience supporting a medical device manufacturer in
molding, cleaning, grinding, assembly, or packaging processes. (ISO
13485, 12CFR820, ISO14971)

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand, walk, sit, use sight, and use hands to
manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and office
equipment. The employee frequently is required to verbally
communicate with other associates.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
and stoop, kneel or crouch.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an
open cubicle environment.
