Job Description

As a member of the Core Products Team, the engineer will design and engineer ASME pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems. This position involves a high degree of latitude and creativity to solve problems in a fast paced atmosphere. The engineer will guide drafting on the creation of general arrangement drawings as well as being responsible for technical aspects of instrumentation, controls, product application, installation, and testing. This position reports directly to the Core Team Supervisor.

* Performs system design including application analysis, overseeing development of drawings, specification review and selection of instrumentation including pressure, level and temperature switches and transmitters. * Directs preparation of product layout and detailed drawings or schematics. * Directly or indirectly involved in the creation of calculations, GA drawings, detail drawings, BOM, datasheets, and any special manufacturing details as required. * Interacts with internal departments such as Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing to clarify or resolve problems. * Other duties may be assigned.

Position Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.

* Demonstrates the ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget.

* Manages multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

* Possesses advanced problem solving and significant decision making abilities.

* Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to effectively communicate clearly and effectively with peers, shop personnel, and customers, and with other departments.

* Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

* Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

* Certifications regarding lean/continuous improvement preferred (e.g., Six Sigma certification).

* Requires experience with the following computer programs: MS Office products primarily Outlook, Word, Excel

* Design software including Design Calcs or Compress, MathCAD, and/or 3D CAD--SolidEdge is preferred. Teamcenter knowledge is a plus.

* ERP experience a Plus.

* Experience with Canadian Registration Number (CRN) application and submittals a plus.
