Development Director Job Opening Description: Global Gardens is
currently seeking an energetic, self-motivated,
relationship-focused fundraising professional to fill the role of
full-time Development Director. Job Opening Basic Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
--- Bachelor's degree
--- Three or more years of experience in nonprofit fundraising
--- Experience with major gifts, capital campaigns, and events
preferred
--- Knowledge of eTapestry preferred
Qualifications:
--- Skill at establishing and maintaining positive relationships
with diverse stakeholders.
--- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
--- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team-based
environment.
--- Ability to strategize, set goals, create and implement action
plans, and evaluate results.
--- Excellent public speaking skills. Job Description Summary:
Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED),
the Development Director spearheads and manages all development
efforts for Global Gardens in order to achieve annual fundraising
goals (current goal is $880,000).
--- Works with the ED and Board development committee to create and
implement Global Gardens' annual development plan.
--- Secures annual contributions and major gifts from
individuals.
--- Develops relationships with donors and prospects through
cultivation and stewardship.
--- Directs two special events, the "Planting Futures" luncheon and
"GLOW" evening fundraiser.
--- Assists Executive Director with grant writing and
reporting.
--- Oversees implementation of the fundraising database and timely
gift processing.
--- Serves as an agency speaker and represents Global Gardens in
the community.
--- Develops and implements new fundraising strategies for special

families through inquiry-based learning that takes place in the
garden. Our holistic model teaches students about science, peace,
health, and the environment, while challenging them to become
caring, engaged community members. As our students plan and
cultivate their gardens, they grow the confidence and skills to
create positive changes in their lives and the world around them.
We currently offer a range of garden-based programming for 3,100
students and families at 11 Tulsa-area sites. Our organizational

Area United Way (TAUW) announced the grand total of its challenging
fundraising campaign on November 19 at the Admiral Twin Drive-In.
Caron Lawhorn of ONE Gas, the 2020 Campaign Chair, joined by TAUW
president and CEO, Alison Anthony announced that together, the
community exceeded its initial goal of 23,700,000 and raised
$24,025,924. You did it! Just over 1,000 community members attended
