Job Description
The Applications Manager's role is to plan, develop, and launch
efficient information and operations systems in support of core
organizational functions. This individual will exhibit exceptional
communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help
identify, communicate, and resolve business and systems issues in
order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Responsibilities
The Application Manager is responsible for the following:
Manage, support, and evolve the business applications with a focus
on the creation of business value by matching business goals with
IT solutions.
Manage Application projects from a high-level to ensure timeliness,
technical direction, and emphasis on customer service for the
business.
Develop and maintain a relationship with the various business units
to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
Capable of coaching others in the applications team by translating
complex nuances relating to this competency into easy to understand
terms
Proactively communicate the work in progress, work completed, work
planned, and issues potentially impacting the on-time completion or
quality level of work.
Perform systems analysis and functional testing including the
creation of scenarios that span multiple applications
Responsible for job assignment, issue resolution, customer
advocacy, and on-call support of certain business applications at
NGL.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing
systems; develop strategies for improving or further leveraging
these systems.
Manage team of individuals responsible for end user support across
multiple applications.
Lead multiple projects and assist with development and
configuration activities to ensure specifications and business
requirements are met.
Coordinate and assist team in performing in-depth tests, including
end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Provide orientation and training to power users / end users for
modified and new systems.
Occasional evening and weekend work is required to meet
deadlines.
Regular attendance at the worksite is required.
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Science,
Management Information Systems, or Business Administration is
required.
2 plus years of experience in an IT Applications Leadership role,
preferably in the Energy industry.
Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and
implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or
products is required.
Experience supporting and making customizations to ION/OpenLink
RightAngle ETRM software is required.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment.
