Job Description:
Registered Nurse - DialysisDialysis Nurses are responsible for
overseeing dialysis treatments required by patients suffering from
acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians.Location:
10020 E 91st St Tulsa, OK 74133, USARESPONSIBILITIES--- Checking
and recording patients' vitals before, during, and after dialysis
treatment.--- Primes dialyzer and bloodlines. --- Ensuring that
hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments are administered to
patients correctly.--- Monitoring patients during dialysis
treatment to identify any adverse reactions.--- Oversees the
dialysis treatment from start to finish. --- Cannulates accesses
and cleans and dresses permanent and temporary catheters.---
Secures, analyzes, and reports lab work. --- Preparing and updating
nursing care plans.--- Promptly notifying the appropriate medical
practitioner of any problems that occur during dialysis
treatments.--- Working with the Dialysis Technicians to ensure that
dialysis machines and equipment are set up/cleaned correctly.---
Teaching patients and their family members how to operate home
dialysis machines should they decide on home dialysis therapy.---
Educating patients on dialysis treatment options, kidney disease
management, as well as suitable nutrition and exercise regimens.---
Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on
assignment setting.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Training:--- State
license to practice nursing.--- Certification through the
Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but
not required.--- Proven experience working as a Dialysis Nurse.---
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.--- Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred but not
required.Experience: One year dialysis experienceKnowledge, Skills,
and Abilities:--- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and
observation skills.--- The ability to operate dialysis machines.---
The ability to remain calm in stressful situations.--- Patient and
