The Medical Assistant (MA) will report directly to the Office Manager and will be responsible for vitals, injections and basic triage and should be able to assist in minor procedures.

Oklahoma Heart Institute is currently looking for a member to join our team! The Medical Assistant will report directly to the Medical Assistant Supervisor and will be responsible for transporting, rooming and preparing patients for physician, advanced practice provider, and nurse clinic visits. The Medical Assistant will serve as the first clinical contact for incoming clinic patients and must represent OHI in regards to Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures. Want to make a difference? The ideal team member will:

  • Complete vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergy review, inquire of past medical and family history, and document this information in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
  • Participate in the completion of provider orders by accurately performing venipuncture and EKGs, appropriately applying ambulatory cardiac monitoring, correctly selecting and documenting medication samples, and patient education as directed by nurse or provider.
  • Complete refill authorization requests daily.
  • Maintain and stock exam rooms with supplies.
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms.

    Qualifications for this position include:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or ABR credentials preferred
    • Valid Driver s License
    • 1 3 years medical assistant experience preferred
    • Excellent written/verbal/telephone communication skills are essential, along with basic computer knowledge Associated topics: gastroenterology, hospitalist physician, internal, internal medicine, internal medicine physician, lung, pulmonary, pulmonology, rheumatology, sports
