The patients are post-surgical and are made up of approximately 70% spine, 25% ortho (knees and hips, etc) and 5% GYN. They are responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for medical/surgical patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. They collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. They serve in a resource role when oriented and as directed. They support the organization's vision and mission. They utilize knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care.     • Demonstrates professional responsibility in the role of the Inpatient RN.
    • Complies with personnel policies and hospital safety policies.
    • Maintains confidentiality when interacting with patients, families, personnel and the public.
    • Performs duties as directed by the Director, Clinical Services.
    • Reports any problems to the Charge Nurse and/or Director, Clinical Services in a timely manner.
    • Communicate effectively and demonstrates ability to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs and provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, young adult, middle-aged and geriatric patient groups.
    • Ability to maintain hourly/bi-hourly rounding on assigned patients.
    • Documents patient pain levels.
    • Maintain real time charting and scanning medications.
    • Identifies patient safety risks.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of medical equipment alarms.
    • Delivers nursing care according to standards of care defined by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Clinical Practice.
    • Systematically evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
    • Acquires and maintains current knowledge in nursing practice.
    • Contributes to professional development of peers, colleagues and others.
    • Decisions and actions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner.
    • Collaborates with patient, significant others, and health care providers in providing care.
    • Demonstrates ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
    • Supports and promotes Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management Programs.
