    The CCBHC Veteran Specialist and Liaison will work with Veteran groups in the community to promote F&CS specialized mental health and related services to Veteran population. In partnership with others in the agency, coordinate and ensure rapid access or referrals to specialized services for Veterans and individuals who have served in the military. Focusing on addressing the unique mental health needs of veterans, ensuring staff are trained in military and veteran's culture, supporting agency staff in providing high quality physical and behavioral health care as well as social services, housing, educational systems, and employment opportunities to facilitate wellness and recovery of the whole person.
    The CCBHC Veteran Specialist and Liaison will work with Veteran groups in the community to promote F&CS specialized mental health and related services to Veteran population. In partnership with others in the agency, coordinate and ensure rapid access or warm handoffs to specialized services for Veterans and individuals who have served in the military. Focusing on addressing the unique mental health needs of veterans, ensuring staff are trained in military and veteran's culture, supporting agency staff in providing high quality physical and behavioral health care as well as social services, housing, educational systems, and employment opportunities to facilitate wellness and recovery of the whole person.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master's Degree in social work, psychology or related field
    • In depth knowledge of services, systems, and programs available to veterans and military families in the community including in depth knowledge of the VA system, primary health care, support services, eligibility criteria, intake processes, generic community resources, mental health, and substance use treatment programs
    • Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders including clinical and developmental issues
    • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing, and able to maintain confidentiality
    • Data driven mindset with ability to analyze and interpret for implementation


      EXPERIENCE:

      • Must be a veteran and willing to identify as a veteran
      • Minimum of 4 years of military service preferred; honorably discharged.
      • If Under Supervision, must have 1 year or less of supervision remaining.
      • Preference will be given for a master's degree in Social Sciences field and fully licensed under respective board.


        CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

        • Must be licensed as an LCSW, LPC, and/or LMFT or under supervision for licensure, in the State of Oklahoma.
        • Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office.
        • Proof of automobile insurance required.


          CCBHC Model of Care
          Family & Children's Services works to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction. You will be working in an innovative and dynamic environment using a new transformative model of care Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This model is characterized by innovative, team-based approach and whole person care for adults and children with a range of complex mental health and substance use challenges.
          Utilizing multi-disciplinary teams, staff work collaboratively to provide a coordinated effort to enhance client recovery. Robust CCBHC services often result in better client outcomes and quality of care due to:

        • Increased access to care and crisis services
        • Expanded traditional community mental health and substance use services.
        • Added Care Coordination and physical health screening for mental health clients
        • Greater access to Social Services for clients' economic and social needs
        • Increased specialized services for veterans, those most in need, and those impacted by the opioid crisis.
