safety. Responsibilities The Phlebotomy Supervisor functions as a
laboratory professional who assumes responsibility of leading the
Phlebotomy laboratory department. With direct oversight of staff
who perform specimen collection duties. This position also oversees
training, competencies, scheduling, and operations within the
phlebotomy department. At times this role might be expected to p
erform specimen collections based on the hospital/laboratory need;
venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction and
specimen culture collection instruction as assigned by their
supervisor. Qualifications Job Requirements: High school diploma or
GED equivalent Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical
assistant program with clinical rotations or previous phlebotomy
experience Certification from nationally recognized agency in
Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Medical Laboratory
Science or Medical Laboratory Technology Clinical laboratory
experience as a Phlebotomist, Medical Technologist, Clinical
Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical
Laboratory Technician within a clinical laboratory Preferred Job
Requirements: Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician
with knowledge of phlebotomy practices Bachelor’s degree in Medical
Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science Five (5) or more years as a
phlebotomist or in a technical laboratory position BLS
