Job Description:
Ascension is seeking a dedicated and skilled RN Registered Nurse
to join our Post-Surgical Cardiac Stepdown Unit. In our faith-based

supporting our mission to empower communities and deliver
exceptional health outcomes in our state-of-the-art facilities. As
part of our dynamic nursing team, you will play a critical role in
managing and monitoring patients who have undergone surgical
procedures, specifically relating to cardiac care. Provide
high-quality nursing care to patients in a post-surgical cardiac
stepdown unit. Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications,
and report any changes in patient conditions to physicians swiftly.
Assist with the stabilization of patients and prepare them for
return to less intensive nursing care. Develop and evaluate care
plans based on patient needs and treatment goals. Collaborate with
cardiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to
ensure comprehensive patient care. Educate patients and families on
post-surgical recovery processes, including medications, physical
activity, and dietary needs. Participate in continuous education to
remain updated with advancements in cardiac care and postoperative
recovery practices. Strong clinical skills in cardiac care and
postoperative management. Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and
healthcare team members. Ability to work under pressure and in
intense, fast-paced environments. Proficient in utilizing
electronic health records and medical software systems. Medical

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; Advanced Cardiovascular
Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
