Job Description:
Join Ascension, a faith-based healthcare network striving for
innovation and excellence in healthcare, as a Registered Nurse in
our Progressive Care Unit. In this role, you will be integral in
providing advanced nursing care for patients with severe conditions
who require close monitoring and frequent assessment, but who are
not unstable enough to need ICU care. Our nurses are supported by
the latest in healthcare technology and are a vital part of our
community-focused care teams. Assess and monitor patients’
conditions and initiate appropriate nursing interventions. Work
collaboratively with doctors and staff to perform medical
procedures. Offer support and education to patients and their
families, particularly concerning treatment plans and aftercare.
Ensure that patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness,
patient rights and guest relations. Supervise healthcare team
members including LPNs, CNAs, and nurse technicians. Maintain
patient records and participate in unit quality improvement
activities. Strong assessment and evaluation skills. Ability to
perform and interpret diagnostic tests. Proficiency with high
acuity care management. Comfortable with technology and healthcare
information systems. Excellent communication and empathy skills.
Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced and stressful
environment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance
Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the
state of employment. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), and
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart
Association or Red Cross.
