JOB SUMMARY : As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be providing direct patient care in the OptionOne ambulatory infusion suites, among other duties. The LPN is essential to providing the OptionOne standard of excellence to our patients. Your nursing expertise and customer service skills can make all the difference in a patient's experience with OptionOne. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Draw and process lab specimens on patients. Administer multiple types of IV therapies such as antibiotics, TPN and IVIG. Perform IV starts as needed. Perform pain management assessments on patients with PCA medications. Perform assessment and management of multiple types of central lines. Educate and counsel patient and/or caregiver on care specific to parenteral and enteral therapy and related needs. Prepare clinical and progress notes according to an assessment of the patient. Coordinate services. Inform the physician and other personnel of changes in the patient's condition. Triage problems or complaints related to parenteral therapy. These problems will be shared with the Lead Infusion Nurse, physician, and/or pharmacist. Educate patient and caregiver on the use of pump required for a safe and conducive therapy. Change vascular access device, dressing and provide maintenance care per policy of OptionOne. Be knowledgeable of potential complications that may occur and report such complications to the physician. Use prudent and reasonable nursing judgment. Participate in weekly case conferences with all disciplines. Must be available for after hours and weekend on-call rotation as scheduled. Attend in services when scheduled. New product information will be serviced and it is the responsibility of the LPN to attend these in-services or secure the necessary information through his/her supervisor. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Must be licensed and in good standing with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Must have at least 2 years experience in nursing, either in a hospital or home health. Must be CPR certified. Must have a valid Driver's License and proof of auto insurance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experienced in acute medicine, surgery, IV therapy, critical care, or home health. Proficiency in peripheral access and administration of IV medications. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Works in a fast-paced clinical environment, moving from room to room. Starts IV lines, administers medication. Draws and labels lab specimens. Checks patient vitals including heart rate. Cleans and sterilizes infusion suites by spraying, wiping, etc. Transports and stocks medical and office supplies. Communicates with patients and clinic staff in person, via email, phone, and direct messaging.
