Job Description:
<div class='description'><p>Essential
Functions:</p><p>· Under the guidance of shop
leadership or senior mechanics, assist with the inspection of brake
systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms,
wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure they are in
proper operating condition.</p><p>· Basic knowledge of
preventative maintenance including tire, oil and brake
changes.</p><p>· Active participation in training
classes and development opportunities to increase skills and
working knowledge.</p><p>· Test drive trucks to
diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working
properly.</p><p>· Under supervision, perform DOT, PM,
brake and safety inspections on all vehicles. Perform PM and safety
inspections.</p><p>· Complete work orders, order parts
and perform other administrative duties as required
daily.</p><p>· Complete work as scheduled by shop
supervision or higher-grade technicians.</p><p>· Ensure
safe working conditions and compliance with all safety
regulations.</p><p>· Maintain a clean work
area.</p><p>· Basic knowledge of Hydraulic
systems.</p><p></p><p>Education, Training,
Experience and Licensing/Certification
Requirements:</p><p>· Entry-level knowledge/experience
of at least 1 years.</p><p>· Willingness to learn more
complex diagnostic and repair process.</p><p>·
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal
regulations.</p><p>· Ability to communicate effectively
across various levels of the organization and communicate with
customers and external vendors.</p><p>· Ability to
read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating, and maintenance instructions and procedural
manuals.</p><p>· Experience using diagnostic software
is preferred. Must be computer literate and willing and able to be
trained in software systems.</p><p>· Class A or B
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred, or the willingness and
ability to obtain one within six (6) months of
employment.</p><p>· ASE certifications
preferred.</p><p></p><p>Physical/Mental
Demands:</p><p>· Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands
and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb,
balance.</p><p>· Continuous concentrated mental and
visual attention required.</p><p>· Visual requirements
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust
focus.</p><p>· Ability to operate trucks and other
equipment used as needed.</p><p>· Ability to use a
computer and related devices, such as a keyboard or mouse or other
related equipment, throughout the workday while seated at a desk or
workstation.</p><p>· Ability to climb ladders, bend or
stand for long periods of time.</p><p>· Ability to
reach above shoulders and lift to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100
