Job Description:
Walmart Inc., a leader in global retail, is seeking an
experienced Principal Software Engineer, Backend to join our
dynamic IT team in Bentonville, Arkansas. In this role, you will
drive the backend development of our enterprise-scale applications
that are critical to the daily operations and overall success of
our vast retail operations. You will design, develop, and maintain
robust backend systems that process large volumes of data
efficiently, ensuring Walmart continues to deliver seamless
shopping experiences both online and offline. This role requires a
deep understanding of software architecture, data structures and
algorithms, and scalability tactics, along with a commitment to
applying these skills to solve real-world problems within a retail
context. Lead the design and implementation of new scalable backend
services and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to
define, design, and ship new backend features. Ensure the
performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Identify
and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs in existing applications. Help
maintain code quality, organization, and automatization. Provide
technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Stay
up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends to incorporate
into operations and activities. Expertise in backend programming
languages like Java, Python, or Node.js Strong understanding of
containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and
Kubernetes Proficiency in building RESTful APIs Experience with
cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Knowledge of continuous
integration and deployment (CI/CD) systems Strong database design
and management skills in both SQL and NoSQL environments Medical
