computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. Loads parts
in machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine
operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools by performing the
following duties. What you will be responsible for: /n - Set up and
operate numerical control machines or machining centers to perform
various machine functions such as cutting, drilling, milling,
reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic work
pieces. /n - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, planning
sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling
requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining
methods and sequences. /n - Mount, align, and secure tooling,
attachments, and work piece on machine using overhead crane. /n -
Assemble cutting tools in tool holders and position tool holders in
machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified
machine magazines. /n - Load control media such as tape, card, or
disk, in machine controller or enters commands to retrieve
preprogrammed instructions from database. /n - Capable of proper
set up, interpretation and verification of correctness of program
to be used on machine. /n - Calculate and set machine controls to
position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate
factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow. /n -
Manipulate controls and enter commands to index cutting tool to
specified set point and to start machine. /n - Ability to start
machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect
malfunctions. /n - Observe and listen to machine operation to
detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools. /n -
Adjust machine feed and speed and change cutters to machine parts
according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or
machine malfunctions. /n - Measure work piece for conformance to
specifications. /n - Stop machine to change cutting tools and setup
according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for
conformance to blueprint specifications. /n - Enter commands or
manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or
out-of-tolerance machining. /n - Operate machine manually to
perform functions when automatic programming is faulty or machine
malfunctions as applicable. /n - Notify supervisor of
discrepancies. Discuss control media errors with supervisor or
programming personnel to resolve problems. /n - Maintains
production record of parts and jobs fabricated as required by the
Department Manager. /n - Clean machine, tooling, and parts. /n -
Perform some machine maintenance. /n - Regular attendance, ability
to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on-site, ability to
work overtime. /n - Ability to work cooperatively with others,
ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors,
other employees, managers, and executive management. /n - Ability
to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a
fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the
department. /n /n COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge,
skills, and abilities) - Ability to calculate figures and amounts
such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume and
to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to add,
subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to read and
interpret tape measures, calipers and micrometers. /n EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE (required levels) /n - High School Diploma or General
Education degree (GED) preferred. /n - Minimum two years related
