in or create an account to save Job Functions: The functions of
this position are as follows: Sets up, operates fiberglass chopper
gun, rib making and carriage equipment on the fixed mandrels to
produce fiberglass tank shells and end caps. Performs inspections,
and shell tests. Removes and transports fiberglass tank shells. Job
Duties: Makes daily job assignments depending on attendance levels.
Responsible for crew quality and output. Coach employees on better
performance as needed. Responsible for getting new employees
trained. Completes all crew paperwork and enters output into
computer, supports production front office. Sets up, adjusts, and
operates fiberglass tank shell fabricating equipment (including,
but not limited to rib, carriage area, end caps, etc.). Checks,
cleans, changes, and performs minor maintenance on equipment to
ensure efficient operation. Ensures proper settings on control
panel per fiberglass tank type. Prepares mandrel prior to start-up
(mold release, tape, mylar, etc.). Verifies proper supply and usage
of resin, sand, glass, etc., by weight. Rolls out bubbles during
lay-up using the right tools (bristle, barrel or another roller
type) Applies ribs, guides, lugs, etc., per specifications. Removes
fiberglass shells and fiberglass end caps from mandrel and
transports to designated area. Visually inspects and physically
tests fiberglass shell for quality standards Notifies appropriate
personnel of off-quality products. Completes all paperwork records
and reports (including, but not limited to, fiberglass shell
manufacturing record, etc.). Installs spray equipment tips, hoses.
Adjusts chemical flow rates. Operates computer console for mandrel
operation. Participates in the safety and good housekeeping
programs as established within the plant. Performs other related
duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the
supervisor. Qualifications: Qualification Requirements: - High
school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Good leaderships skills,
communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills.
P Previous mandrel operator experience. - Inventory, equipment
maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.
Physical Demands and Abilities: 1. Regularly required to us hands
to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or
listen. 2. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs.
occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
3. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or
