Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Site General Manager. This position supervises the activities of the Maintenance Superintendents, Maintenance Engineers and the Maintenance Clerks/Admins. Ensuring safe and reliable plant availability to achieve budgeted on-stream factors and production within budgeted costs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Establishes a strong leadership role and personal commitment to promoting a proactive and positive EHS culture in all maintenance activities among CF employees and with all contractors that assist in maintenance activities for the site.
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and internal company policy compliance regarding maintenance repairs, including OSHA's Process Safety Management Program.
  • Works in partnership with the Site leadership team to promote CF Core Values, uphold strong moral and ethical standards, promotes a positive culture founded upon mutual respect, self-reflection, and continuous feedback.
  • Maintains and administers a trained and competent team of maintenance personnel; trains, counsels, and appraises performance of personnel; recommends staffing and personnel actions; assigns functional duties and reviews periodically with General Manager and site leadership team.
  • Collaborates with the site Production Manager and General Manager to prepare and administer the maintenance budget, ensuring that the site is maintained appropriately and within budgeted costs.
  • Conducts reviews of applicable regulations, codes, and RAGAGEP's, and develops methods of compliance as they relate to Mechanical Integrity and plant-wide safety (ex. ASME, API, NFPA, IEEE, etc.).
  • Works closely with maintenance planning team to ensure that accounting procedures, work order systems, equipment records, and preventive maintenance programs are effective and being implemented as designed. Responsible for long-range planning and execution of maintenance activities relative to turnarounds, expansions, etc.
  • Works closely with Maintenance Superintendents and the Human Resources Department to ensure that all aspects of personnel policy are equitably administered and that an effective training program for all personnel is established and in effect.
  • Works to standardize site piping and rotating equipment specification system together with Engineering Manager and PSM Manager and provide input into all changes proposed to process equipment and spare part vendor selection.
  • Collaborates with other CF Industries manufacturing sites to share best practices for turnaround planning, equipment repairs, preventative/predictive maintenance strategies, and technical training/development of maintenance employees. The successful candidate will have a minimum 15 years of experience in chemical or maintenance and/or engineering roles of progressive nature.

Successful Candidates Will Have:
  • A minimum 15 years of experience in chemical or maintenance and/or engineering roles of progressive nature.
  • Experience should include managing large-scale turnaround projects from a maintenance standpoint.
  • The candidate will possess strong servant leadership skills. These leadership skills should include an ability to establish and articulate strategic and operating objectives.
  • The position requires an individual that has a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or chemical engineering; or extensive experience in the maintenance of continuous process operating facilities.

This position reports to the General Manager and works in partnership with 8 additional Site Team Leaders. Within the maintenance building/department, the Maintenance Manager also works with: Admins, Maintenance Superintendents and Supervisors, Planners, Procurement, Materials, Engineering and Maintenance Tech's (I&E, Coordinators, etc.).
