Chemours is seeking a Global Commercial Brand Leader to join our Advanced Performance Materials (APM) Marketing Team. This position will report directly to the Senior Global Marketing Manager and can be based in our Wilmington, DE location or remote.

The successful candidate will be responsible for brand management activities related to licensing, enforcement, and registration of the full portfolio of brands within the business. This role will be responsible for understanding the market and value of the brands to value chain participants, developing the trademark strategy in alignment with global market plans and health of product portfolio plans, and delivering process improvements in brand enforcement and brand violation management. In addition, will collaborate with global marketing, global product management, and legal teams to ensure brands are registered in countries/regions aligned with growth and defense strategies.

This position is for an experienced B2B trademark professional who is a thought-leader in brand management and who can work proactively, autonomously, and reliably on multiple projects in a dynamic environment with a positive and energetic attitude. This role will deliver formal reviews and recommendations on licensing, protection/enforcement, and registration efforts. In addition, will develop global and regional policies and processes to improve enforcement, maximize automation and deliver efficiency in resolving brand-related violations.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop guidelines and goals, and ensure alignment with global business plans with licensing models, licensees and internal teams;

  • Develop detailed analysis and proof-of-use collection to maintain proper use of brands across all regions;

  • Active participation in contract negotiations and reviews for all new and existing licensees;

  • Determine country registrations to support market growth, entry, exit and defense;

  • Create and continuously update annual brand protection plan to strengthen enforcement on third-party infringers and correct internal misuse of business brands;

  • Design and implement trademark violation submission tool (TVST) to process, monitor, track and guide workflows of identified external brand misuse, infringement, and counterfeit;

  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to solve complex problems;

  • Continuous improvements to programs and initiatives to capture value for the business and deliver value to the customer.

The following is required for this role:                                                                                 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of B2B experience in brand registration, licensing, and protection

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and implement contracts

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, and presentation skills

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Skilled at influencing business decision-makers

  • Thorough research, analytical, and insights skills

  • Advanced knowledge of the following software applications SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Teams

The following is preferred for this role:

  • MBA or advanced degree

  • Prior experience using watch service and brand protection infrastructure

  • Thorough understanding of trademark law and trademark infringement

  • Global experience

  • Participation in INTA (International Trademark Association) or other related organizations
