SENIOR MASTER OPTICIAN
Produces precision optical components -by grinding, polishing, test
plating, beveling and cleaning glass and other optical
--- Independently performs complex custom setups and assists with
design of tooling required for optical fabrication.
--- Coaches and trains other - journeyman opticians -in - classical
optical fabrication techniques .
--- Performs interferometric testing of optical surfaces.
--- Interprets and evaluates optical component drawings and
determines best processes and methods needed to meet drawing
--- Maintains in-process specifications and controls and determines
sequence of operations based on work instructions.
--- Monitors manufacturing processes and works with engineering to
evaluate and implement process improvements.
--- Maintains a clean and orderly 5S work space throughout Optics
--- Ensures proper operation of equipment by performing scheduled
--- Enjoys participating in and building great teams to accomplish
Work Experience and Education
--- High school diploma required. An education plus: 2 years of
college or a trade school program.
--- 5+ years of experience as an optician working in a
high-precision optics manufacturing environment.
--- Experience with optical CNC grinding and polishing equipment is

- Minimum of 5 years precision optics experience
- Ability to fabricate specialized work of substantial variety and
complexity to exacting tolerances
- Ability to start from the print to specify raw material, outline
and perform the full fabrication process and measure the final
- Ability to train optics technicians
-Very good communications skills-written and verbal
--A take-charge leader who can provide supervisory oversight with
humility and intellectual curiosity
- US Citizenship required; Access Optics is an ITAR registered
