S/He is responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for medical/surgical patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. S/He collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. S/He serves in a resource role when oriented and as directed. S/He supports the organization's vision and mission. S/He utilizes knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. S/He contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care The successful candidate will be able to: Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomesMaintain confidentiality with all informationPerform any and all other duties as assigned Essential Functions:--- Demonstrates professional responsibility in the role of the PACU RN.--- Complies with personnel policies and hospital safety policies.--- Maintains confidentiality when interacting with patients, families, personnel and the public.--- Performs duties as directed by the Manager, PACU.--- Reports any problems to the Manager in a timely manner.--- Delivers nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) according to standards of care defined by the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) and unit specific policies and procedures.--- Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions and procedures as necessary for care of patient.--- Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) in collaboration with each patient / family / significant other to address all identified needs.--- Evaluates identified problems; assesses care provided and patient response to meet patient needs and ensure overall quality of care delivered.--- Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure quality care and integration of information for use by healthcare team. QualificationsExperience--- 2 years PACU/ICU experience preferred. Education/Certification--- Associates in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma RN from an accredited school of nursing required.--- Bachelor's in Nursing (BSBN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.--- Current RN License or Compact License deemed by the OK State Board of Nursing required.--- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire required.--- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days of hire required.--- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire required.--- CPAN Preferred What You'll Bring Valid RN Oklahoma licenseGraduate of an accredited nursing program - Associates degree minimumMust have a passion for excellenceBLS (within 30 days of employment)ACLS / ALS (within 60 days of employment)PALS (within 90 days of employment)Must demonstrate excellent English grammar and writing skillsProfessionalism displayed through sound judgement, initiative, and flexibility - - - - - -
