L3Harris-Aeromet is established within the DoD Community as the developer and operator of special mission ISR systems. We provide special mission system design, modification, and operations with emphasis on the development and integration of state-of-the-art EO/IR sensor systems.
Job Description:
As a Experienced Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of complex systems at L3Harris. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and a proven track record in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
Essential Functions:

  • Lead the systems engineering activities throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop system architecture, requirements, and specifications based on customer needs and technical constraints.
  • Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to define, analyze, and validate system models and simulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of subsystems and components.
  • Conduct system-level tests and evaluations to verify performance, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to systems engineering. Qualifications:
    • Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
    • Strong knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, etc.).
    • Proficient in system architecture design, requirements management, and verification/validation processes.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STD-810, etc.
    • Experience in the development and integration of complex systems, preferably in the Aerospace & Defense domain.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
    • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance Preferred Additional Skills:
      • Actice DoD clearance
      • Strong background in developing systems model and modeling software architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or similar SysML development tool.
      • Strong background in software systems and software development, including experience with programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
      • Proficiency in hardware/software integration, with the ability to collaborate with hardware engineers and software developers to ensure seamless integration of subsystems and components.
      • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices, with a focus on ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
      • Familiarity with anti-tamper techniques and methodologies to protect systems against unauthorized access, reverse engineering, and tampering.
