Lead Electrical EngineerDo you enjoy being part of a successful team?Would you like to shape the future of energy transition?Partner with the bestThe Lead Electrical Engineer is a high visibility position serving as a core team member of the Artificial Lift Systems Research and Technology Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the conceptualization and development of new technologies that will be foundational in shaping the global energy transition efforts in Geothermal, Oil & Gas, and Carbon Capture. -If you are looking to make a difference with your work and want the opportunity to take the technologies you develop from the lab to commercial application, then this is the position for you.You will work in an innovative, challenging, and rewarding environment with a diverse team of highly qualified professionals focused on pushing the limits of technology in the energy space through customer focus, creative thinking, teamwork, research, design, simulation, and testing leading to the delivery of transformational solutions to supply the world with clean affordable energy. -The Lead Electrical Engineer will interact with customers, universities, and a broad range of internal stakeholders from the manufacturing floor to senior and executive leadership. The scope of work for the candidate will span a wide array of technologies including sensors, electric motors, pumps, seals, variable speed drives, IIOT devices, electrical cables, and other technologies.As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Scoping and leading all aspects of complex research and technology development projects
  • Electrical system design from the conceptual design phase progressing through the preliminary and detailed design phases to culminate in equipment qualification and test.
    • Development and documentation of the system, subsystem, and component specifications and requirements
    • Design and or selection of electrical elements or subsystems including but not limited to power distribution & conversion, automation & control, component & system I/O, drives & servos, sensors, processors, circuit cards, cabling, connectors, and other electronic components
    • Generate electrical design artifacts including schematics/diagrams (wiring, cable, I/O & interconnection), circuit analysis, control system designs, grounding schemes, electromagnetic interference mitigation schemes, control panel layouts, and I/O schemes that meet product design requirements
    • Selection of engineering techniques to solve problems and makes sound design recommendations
    • Development, verification, and application of simulation models for digital and electrical systems using modern simulation tools such as ANSYS TwinBuilder, MotorCAD, OptiSlang, Maxwell, MATLAB, and or common programming languages
    • Communicating project results to customers, senior/executive leadership, and industry forums
    • Interacting with universities to develop research partnerships and guide work conducted within research consortia
    • Performing hands-on work in our state-of-the-art research and product test facilities
    • Assessing results for applicability, validity, and conformance to specifications
    • Supporting the development of the research and product development strategy for electrical and digital systems
    • Maintaining awareness of the state of the art in the following areas: electrical motor design & control, IIoT Devices, electronics & digital systems
    • Working independently and in a cross-functional team
    • Leading and mentoring fellow employeesFuel your passionTo be successful in this role the candidate will have:
      • Have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4-8+ years of experience.
      • Have communication and project management skills
      • Be action-oriented, ethical in value, and have a strong customer focus
      • Have a practical and theoretical background in electrical system and component design (conceptual, preliminary, detailed design), manufacturing, prototype development and engineering test
        • Be capable of "hands-on" work in lab, test facility, or engineering prototype shop
        • Demonstrate proficiency in:
          • Problem-solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks
          • Conceptual design and ideation
          • Schematic development
          • Electrical component and system design, analysis/simulation, and documentation
          • Advanced use of simulation tools including MATLAB and other electrical CAE tools
          • Programming in: C, C++, C#, or Python
          • MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
          • Demonstrate expertise in written communication and technical writing
          • Have the ability to build peer relationships as well as work independently
          • Be fluent in EnglishDesired Characteristics:
            • Have expertise in:
              • Design of electrical motors
              • Development of component, subsystem, and system level models for complex electrical systems
              • Partial discharge testing
