How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As part of Procurement/Purchasing at Airgas, the team works hand-in-hand with key stakeholders across the business to help drive efficiencies. Support all field, operations and engineering internal customers through the execution of operations pertaining to fulfillment needs and transactional activity in full compliance with procurement strategies. The Indirect Buyer role will be key in managing the Procure to Pay Process on a daily basis to ensure the business is ordering from preferred suppliers with an optimized price and delivery to avoid any business disruptions. This role will be responsible for obtaining professional competitive bidding, proposal analysis, negotiation and contract development for goods and services for all requisitions where a frame agreement does not exist. This individual must be an independent thinker capable of creating solutions, summarizing data conclusions, and a problem solver.

• Ensure the timely and accurate issuance of purchase orders (PO) through ERP in accordance with the requirements of internal customers and the approved supplier list maximizing the savings achieved in each transaction.
  
• Exhibits effective negotiation and proper communication/documentation method
  
• Actively engages as a liaison between the vendor, accounts payable, receiving and internal customer. Provides necessary documentation to support those efforts.
  
• Understands and demonstrates knowledge of all purchasing functions, contracts, legal restraints, fair business practices, uniform commercial codes, purchasing ethics and knowledge of sources for gathering information
  
• Validate vendors qualification status through vetting tool to ensure safety compliance
  
• Ensuring that supplier issues after the sale are resolved timely and effectively. This includes but is not limited to delivery issues, quality issues, and invoicing issues.
  
• Provide Support to Requesters, to include responding to Ad hoc requests or questions, research, etc.. Encourage and train internal customers requisitioners to continuously improve the information they provide in their purchase requisitions
  
• Demonstrates being a self-starter and displays the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work

• Displays proficient knowledge and use of SAP procurement and reporting modules

    Are you a MATCH?
    
    
    • BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain or similar discipline or equivalent work experience.
      
    • 2 to 4 years' experience in purchasing, inventory management, or customer service roles.
      
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels of outside vendors, management and associates.
      
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently and be detail-oriented.
      
    • Ability to make decisions and follow guidelines.
      
    • Microsoft PC skills Google applications or Microsoft applications
      
    • Knowledge of SAP software, a plus, ability to learn rapidly is required.
      
    • Strong customer service skills
