The *Director, Product Marketing* is responsible for developing the go-to-market strategy for Cox Medias portfolio of advertising and marketing products and services, acting as a subject matter expert on all Cox Media products, their benefits, and how to position product value to external customers. In this role, the individual will report to the Executive Director of Marketing and work with senior leaders across customer insights, product, sales, and marketing to ensure all aspects of go-to-market strategy are fully integrated into plans that drive business results and align to our brand. This role has a commanding understanding of the full product life cycle and offers expertise across marketing-related strategies including how we position our offerings, communicate their value and enhance the customers related experience.
* Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions*
* Work with the Sr. Director, Client Insights to understand Cox Media clients needs by segment and provide strategic recommendations to the product development team that reflect key buyer challenges.
* Continue to work with the Insights Team as products or services are being developed; partner to conduct primary research programs that test client receptivity to new product offerings; make recommendations based on research for product features or pricing to best meet customer need.
* Translate the solutions and product offerings of the Cox Media portfolio into audience benefits by client segment; develop product or service bundles, including bundle pricing, that align with the clients willingness to pay.
* Own launch marketing programs for new product or services (or enhancements) including advertising, promotions, and lead and demand generation capacities in partnership with the Director, Performance Marketing
* Develop the product marketing messaging architecture and outreach plans including defining the content marketing strategy that supports product and service offerings, development of customer-centric messaging and design, and working with direct reports to deliver these messages across a variety of formats including web, social and video collateral.
* Partner with the Director, Digital Sales to communicate the value proposition of the products to the Sales team by working with direct reports to develop internal sales tools that support the selling process of our products and services.
* Provide leadership to programs that teach sellers how to build optimized solutions using the products and services within the portfolio; act as a key contributor to annual revenue activation plans for any initiatives that align to product marketing
* Develop cohesive quarterly product marketing plans for each product line including assessment of marketplace demand; incorporate product marketing wins, performance metrics and highlights
* Partner with the Product organization and business stakeholders to understand the business priorities and timing of new or enhanced product launches.
* Develop a professional marketing culture in which the team provides product market strategy and execution, positively represents Cox Media to all constituents, and reinforces the Cox culture.
* Provide growth and learning opportunities to product-marketing related roles in field offices through best practice sharing, collaborative learning and mentoring.
* Coach and develop team members to continuously improve individual expertise and team performance and capability; conduct reviews of direct reports to ensure performance standards are met and, if not, takes immediate action to improve performance level.
* Serve as a role model for the marketing team in all aspects of the business.

Qualifications:

* 10 or more years of experience required in related field (Marketing, Product or Services Marketing, Product Management, Product Development)
* 3 or more years of experience in a management role
* Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Tools
* Demonstrated remarkable success in storytelling and communication across mediums including video scripting and development
* Excellent skills in cross-functional collaboration, building organizational talent, coaches and develops, cultivates networks, demonstrates business acumen, establishes strategic direction, functional competence, high impact communication, inspires innovation, leads change, continuous learning, and promotes accountability in order to work effectively with teams throughout organization
* Must be self-motivated, organized, flexible and possess the ability to complete projects within aggressive timeframes.
* Preferred*
* Understanding of the core mechanics of B2B marketing and sales
* MBA preferred
* 3 or more years of experience in a management role or leading cross functional projects preferred
* Experience in media and marketing services industry desired
* Experience in Salesforce CRM desired
